A Scriptural, Ecclesiastical, and Historical View of Slavery
$17.00

by John Henry Hopkins
originally published in 1864
paperback; 382 pages

This book is one of the most comprehensive treatments of the subject of slavery ever written and proves conclusively that Abolitionism is at odds with, not only the entire history of mankind, but also two millennia of Christian theology. In a series of addresses to the Protestant Episcopal bishop of Pennsylvania, the author, himself the bishop of Vermont, argues that the Bible clearly condones the institution of slavery and traces its practice from the days of Abraham to the Nineteenth Century.
