This is the story of two brothers who join opposing sides in the War Between the States. Ronald Reagan is Vance Britton, the commander of a troop of Confederates who are plundering the Yankees’ gold shipments and generally wreaking havoc on their outposts. Bruce Bennet is Jeb Britton, the commander of the Union forces sent to the frontier to seek out and destroy this Confederate menace, unaware that it is his own brother who is the target. Rhonda Fleming is the red-haired beauty who must compete with the Southern Confederacy for Vance’s heart. This action-packed movie was shot on location in the Arizona high country and was Reagan’s first Western.
