This series exemplifies how a Christian warfighter can serve God, his family, and his country. In the genre of Hopalong Cassidy, Roy Rogers, and The Lone Ranger, this well-scripted series packs lots of action into moral lessons for all who care to take note. Even my wife, a retired schoolteacher, cheerfully sat through eight consecutive episodes as I found myself unable to turn off the VCR. The wit and humour of the characters add just the right spark of adventure as Mosby and his men happily demonstrate chivalry and cunning to dispatch their sometimes brutal foe. The social grace and moral code of these Southern partisans are in striking contrast with the crudeness and heavy-handedness of the invaders. This two-volume video leaves me wanting more, as I fondly remember seeing these episodes in my young teen years in the 50's. Lawyer-soldier Mosby demonstrates modern military doctrine as he "thinks outside the box" to confound and defeat his more powerful adversaries. Viacom should release the entire series from its vaults in L.A., because The Gray Ghost is truly a Classic to be enjoyed by all afficionados of the War Between the States.
